Didier Deschamps has been in charge of France since 2012, but there may be a vacancy after the World Cup in Qatar next year when his current contract expires.

As a player, Zidane enjoyed many successes with France, winning more than 100 international matches and winning the World Cup and the European Championship.

Zidane has been out of work since his second spell at Real Madrid ended at the end of last season.

During his time at Real, Zidane won three Champions League titles and two LaLiga titles.

United’s inconsistent start to the season has drawn considerable scrutiny over Solskjaer, whose team is seventh in the Premier League.

Solskjaer will remain in charge of Saturday’s game away from Tottenham, but a loss in that game could prove costly for the Norwegian.

Former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has been strongly associated with United’s work, as has Brendan Rodgers, who has received much praise for his work at Leicester.

United were expected to be a major force in the Premier League title race this season, especially after Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the club.

However, Solskjaer’s team has often lacked cohesion and has been vulnerable on defense, as evidenced by the fact that they have not kept a clean sheet for two months. They have also won just one of their last four games in all competitions.
