Zara chose to keep her makeup minimal for the outing, with dark eyeliner along her lids and a touch of blush across her cheeks.

Meanwhile, the mother of three swept her blonde locks into a ponytail for the occasion.

Since the arrival of her third child, Zara has been spotted on quiet family outings.

Last year Zara described what riding for her country is made of and how she is lucky enough to have her horses with her in lockdown.

The rider who won the Olympic silver medal lives on the Gatcombe Park estate of her mother, Princess Anne, in Gloucestershire.

She told a royal special edition of Horse & Hound magazine that she enjoys the pressure to compete.

She said, ‘I like riding horses for my country; those have been the best experiences of my career, getting your horse to that level is what it’s all about and what we all strive for,” she said at the time.

“I like the big opportunity because I like the pressure – sitting on a horse you know is good enough, you’re fully prepared, riding for your country, that’s what your dreams are made of.”

Zara won team silver at the London 2012 and received her medal from her mother the Princess Royal.

She was crowned eventing world champion in Germany in 2006 – leading to the British public choosing her BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

The royal also spoke of not being able to participate in Badminton Horse Trials last year due to the cancellation due to the pandemic.

“It was exciting to target horses like Class Affair and Watkins to Badminton and it gave everything a focus; now those goals aren’t there, it’s kinda weird and you’re dealing with the disappointment,” she said.

But she added that she is “so lucky” to have been able to spend time with her horses during the lockdown, and that it has been “incredibly tough” for those who have not had that luxury.
