Xiaomi’s extended Mi 11 family now has five members. Three of them are in the high range, the Mi 11, a stylish and seductive base model, the Mi 11i and the Mi 11 Ultra, and two in the mid-range, the Mi 11 Lite (4G) and the Mi 11 Lite 5G, the benchmark in this segment, a mobile phone that, like its twin brother, has the comfort derived from its lightness as a great attraction.
The Mi 11 Lite 5G (400 euros), with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G processor inside, keeps the premium style of the series, adding light and stylish as distinctive elements. It weighs only 159 grams and is 6.81 mm thick, features that are noticeable and bring pleasure and suggestion. The emphasis on this aspect is reflected when comparing the dimensions with those of the others: Mi 11 (196 grams and 8.06 mm), Mi 11i (196 / 7.8), Mi 11 Ultra (234 / 8.38). The Mi 11 Lite, with the same thickness, weighs 157 grams.
The chosen colors (mint, yellow and black) give it a freshness and, above all, elegance, to which the embodiment of the module contributes, in the aesthetic line that the Chinese brand introduced at this stage. The rounded square, shows two differentiated parts, and the black part and the halo ring surrounding the main camera stand out. The matte finish, clean in terms of fingerprints, offers a pleasant feel.
It offers a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution, 10-bit color depth, TrueColor technology, and DCI-P3 color gamut. It supports HDR10 + and includes the 90 Hz refresh rate boost, which can be adjusted as usual and lowered to 60 Hz if you want to save energy. The experience is pleasant, although, in keeping with the difference in range, it does not follow the path of the curved-screen of the Mi 11.
The panel contains the 20 MP sensor for selfies in the top left corner. As for the rear module, it includes a triple camera system with a 64 MP main, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and a 119-degree field of view, and a 5 MP telephoto macro.
At first, it may seem that the colors may be too bright, but the hue disappears and the quality of the photos and videos is quickly appreciated. The specific app is complete and includes curious movie effects (like the parallel world and the magic zoom).
The pointless captivating Mi 11 Lite 5G (although it should be noted that in practice is not a problem) is in its battery from 4,250 mAh, below the average capacity of the market, which may be partly due to its slim design and lightweight. The appeal in this section is concentrated on the 33W fast charger.
It comes in an 8 GB + 128 GB configuration and with Android 11 according to MIUI 12. It has a fingerprint sensor on the right side, which surprises with its speed, dual speakers, infrared emitter, and NFC for mobile payments. It does not consider the classic headphone jack. The slot for SIM and SD is at the bottom.
Mi 11 Lite 5G vs my 11 Lite
Finally, how does it differ from its twin Mi 11 Lite beyond 5G and 4G? Apart from the anecdotal weight, in the processor (logical because of the connectivity), the lower price (the 4G costs 300 or 350 euros), the configuration, the chosen colorful colors (three each), the degree of protection of the panel (Corning Gorilla Glass 6 vs.5) and the front camera range (20MP vs 16MP). It does include the 3.5mm jack, though.
