Thousands went inside the Camp Nou to receive Xavi at home and he was puzzled
“I don’t want to get too emotional,” he told them. So I can only tell you one thing: we are the best club in the world. And we will work to the highest standards to be successful. We cannot accept losses or draws, we have to win every game ”.
“We are going to work to try to win many titles, thank you very much, this is an emotional moment for me.”
Xavi then proceeded to sign a contract on a table that had been set on the lawn while his family and friends watched from a few feet away.
He then posed for photos while holding a Barcelona jersey with his name on the back.
Xavi and Laporta addressed the crowd and applauded with the coach’s wife, Nuria Cunillera, by their side.

Xavi hugged Laporta and obviously the couple have a strong relationship, although that could undoubtedly be put to the test in the coming months as the club tries to rebuild itself.
Then Laporta addressed the crowd and said: ‘Welcome Xavi and his family, welcome home, this is a special moment for everyone.’
His words were almost drowned out by the noise created by the 10,000 or so fans, who were serenading their new boss.
