In a TikTok video that has now been viewed more than 2.1 million times, New York-based Badesim Kubak explains how she suffered severe burns after a beautician spilled hot wax all over her legs.

At the beginning of the short clip she wrote: ‘I, at 15, am going to get my legs waxed before a concert after school.’

“Start waxing with my legs, it’s painful, but I can handle it.”

“As the lady applies wax to my inner thighs, the applicator lid comes off and boiling wax flows between my legs.”

Badesim revealed that it was only missing her vagina by a few inches, and recalled how she started screaming and crying in excruciating pain.

But instead of comforting her, Badesim claimed that the wax technician accused her of “making a big deal out of it” and assured her that everything was fine.

Not wanting to cause any trouble, the 15-year-old obliged, forcing herself to keep quiet and trying to keep going through the pain.

“She rips the wax off me to keep it from burning my skin while telling me it’s seriously nothing,” she continued.

“She puts MOISTURIZER and paper towels on my burn and says she’s done. I’m ashamed that everyone in the parlor heard me screaming and crying.’

After paying full price for the botched treatment because she felt she didn’t know any better, the then 15-year-old went back to school where the nurse helped as best she could.

However, it didn’t take long for Badesim to realize that the situation had not improved.

“The next morning I wake up with insane pain, my leg is still wrapped,” she continued. “My parents take me to my uncle, who is a plastic surgeon, to look at it.”

Once the bandage was off, the full extent of the injury became apparent.”

Comments on the video were outraged at Badesim, criticizing the wax technician for her unprofessional manner.

‘As a beautician she has to lose her driver’s license. That’s unacceptable,” one raged, while a second wrote, “God, I’d be furious. She could have saved you pain and suffering by admitting it right away so you could cool it properly and have it cared for.”

A third speculated on the extent of the injury, saying, “That’s a second-degree burn. It’s deep enough to affect the nerves and damage the lower layer of the epidermis.”

Elsewhere, others sympathized by sharing their similar disastrous salon experiences.

‘Terrible. A nail technician cut deep into my finger with a plastic polish and tried to “seal” my open wound with a clear top coat,” one recalls.

Another wrote: ‘I had something similar, but waxing my eyebrows. wax was super heated and she dropped it on my forehead. Luckily she missed my eyes.’

Meanwhile, another contributed: “I had a similar situation with an interviewed speed waxer at our spa. She left scars, but I was ashamed because I cried and told my bosses.’

In another video, Badesim filmed “part two” where she answered questions asked multiple times by her concerned followers — including the extent of the damage.

“My family and I were very shocked when we saw what was under the bandage, we were not expecting that at all,” she explains.

“My uncle was surprised I didn’t pass out from the pain, but I think it was because she kept telling me I was making a big deal of it, so I just sucked it up.”

“For the next two to three weeks, I had to go to my uncle’s clinic every day because if a burn like that gets infected, it can be horrific.”

“I also couldn’t walk properly for a while because just pressure on that leg hurt.”

In response to questions about whether she had sued, Badesim explained: “My family asked me if I wanted to sue and they said they would respect my decision and being 15 I feel like I was very naive.

“I knew the lady who waxed me had a young daughter and I didn’t want her to suffer for her mother’s mistakes.”

“But looking back on it now, it doesn’t work that way and I should have complained. Not even because she burned me, but because she made a 15-year-old girl feel like she was making a big problem and that she was guilty for being in pain.”

Badesim explained that luckily there are now minimal scars on her leg – adding that you can only see it if you look closely.

She also revealed that she discovered the salon was closed two months later – but never found out why.

In response to a frequently asked question about why shaving is ‘favored’ in Turkey, she claimed: ‘It’s just one of those places where body hair on adult women is dirty, it needs to be tamed and for some reason they believe that shaving does not work. ‘not doing well.’

“But I can only shave now because I’m so scared after my experience.”
