WEATHER BLOG: June weather overview

Weather blog

After a dry spell in May, June brought us back early in the month to a rainy pattern that brought back green lawns. Rain was above normal in most locations, even much above normal in some places like Brooksville where almost a meter of rain fell.

But not every location had above normal rainfall. Both reporting sites in Manatee County reported under normal rainfall in June. The center of St. Petersburg at Albert Whitted Airport also had less rain than usual this month.

Like all previous months of this year, June had above normal temperatures with some spots in our area reaching 100 degrees. The hottest temperature ever in Tampa was 99 ° C in June 1985. This year we again reached 98 at Tampa International Airport this year, but we continued to shun the all-time record.
