Wallbox will allow the electric car to be charged in less than 15 minutes with Hypernova, its most advanced public charging station with up to 350 kW

It is one of the fastest and most advanced public charging stations to date. And it belongs to Wallbox, a company founded in Barcelona that has recently started trading on Wall Street with a valuation close to 1,500 million dollars. During the IAA Mobility Munich show, Hypernova, the new generation of Wallbox electric car chargers, was presented and a leap forward to be placed in the first division within the sector.

Hypernova is a charger that promises “to fully charge an electric vehicle in less than 15 minutes”, according to Enric Asunción, CEO of Wallbox. You will achieve this thanks to your ability to supply up to 350 kilowatts (kW), a step up from the 65 kW it currently offered with its Supernova charger.

A reference charger by the end of 2022

The Wallbox public charging station uses software that will adapt to the number of connected electric vehicles, with the intention of optimizing power for use on highways and road networks.

In addition to improving recharging power, Hypernova stands out for implementing various authentication and payment options, such as RFID, QR code on screen and credit card reader with worldwide acceptance. An “all in one” that fits very well with its objective of becoming an easy-to-use option that both municipalities and companies want to acquire to offer electric recharge.

While Supernova, its 65 kW charger, will be available at the end of 2021. Hypernova will begin production by the end of 2022, sending the first deliveries also on that date, according to Wallbox.

MOVES III Plan: these are the new grants of up to 7,000 euros for the purchase of an electric car

Other aspects of this new electric charger is its cable management system, stored inside of the dispensing unit. This will allow them to be protected both from the environment and from their own use, thus extending their durability.

In Spain there are already some chargers with a power of 350 kW, but they are specific solutions such as those from Porsche or Ionity chargers up to 350 kW, one of the great current references among electric chargers.

With a presence in more than 80 countries and 700 employees, Wallbox’s growth since its founding in 2015 has been enormous. Hypernova is their most advanced charging station to date and a great example of their ambition to rank among the big electric car charger companies.
