Germany’s Cologne has announced that the kick-off of Thursday’s Europa Conference League game against Nice has been postponed due to violent clashes between rival fans at the Allianz Riviera stadium.

Footage on social media showed masked thugs fighting inside the stadium and throwing flares, with French outlet RMC Sport reporting that a supporter was seriously injured after falling from a stand.

The match was set to start at 6:45 PM (5:45 PM BST), but a statement from Cologne’s official Twitter account confirmed that the kick-off has been postponed to 7:40 PM (6:40 PM BST).

UEFA governing body said the match was “delayed due to crowd disturbance”.

They warned that the match would be canceled if further incidents occurred.
