Gwyneth Paltrow’s raunchy new Netflix series Sex, Love & Goop has been hailed as “life-changing” by viewers who say it’s the “best sex education they’ve ever been given.”
In the six-episode series, the actress turned wellness guru teams up with five sexual health experts to work with couples struggling with their sex lives, including parents who are beginning to feel more like roommates.
The couples are introduced to a range of techniques they can use to overcome their problems, whether that’s practicing “energetic orgasms” or playing with a Wolverine claw sex toy in bed.
‘Orgasm doesn’t have to be slot A, it goes into slot B’, explains somatic sexologist Jaiya Love. “It could be anywhere on their bodies.” To prove the point, she later tells a husband, “Just behind the knees, that’s like genitals.”

Excited: In the six-episode run, we see actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 49, in the picture teaming up with five sexual health experts to work with couples struggling with their sex lives, including parents who are beginning to feel more like roommates
The advice, while at times unconventional, has proved a hit with viewers
The advice, while unconventional at times, has proved a hit with viewers. One tweeted: ‘Sex, love & goop on Netflix is REALLY good. It’s like love languages, but… in sex.’
Another wrote: ‘I really enjoy #SexLoveGoop! This kind of content is my favorite. I find it very important and informative.’
A third added: ‘Sex Love & Goop is so well done! This is one of the best intentional programs I’ve seen.”
Gwyneth, who at one point briefly discusses submissiveness in her own sex life, invites five couples, each with different problems within their relationships.
Erika and Damon have been together for six years but feel they are not sexually compatible; Rama and Felicitas have two children and admit they have come close to divorce, partly due to the lack of spark; Camille and Shandra are newly engaged and want a bigger sexual repertoire; Dash and Sera deal infidelity; and Mike and Joie deal with aging and a mismatched libido.
Erika and Damon have been together for six years, but they feel they are not sexually compatible. In the photo, Damon is experimenting by hitting Erika with a paddle while lying on a table
During his session, Damon becomes emotional as he is touched all over his body by his partner Erika, causing an ‘energetic orgasm’ without any genital stimulation

Erika and Damon watch in shock and awe as Jaiya squirms on the table in response to her partner’s energy, with Damon saying this is the point he wants to reach
Jaiya also introduces them to some “pleasure items” that they can use in the bedroom, including her “Wolverine Claws.” While the idea of the claws excites Erika, Damon is less sure (pictured)
Five sexual health experts are ready to help: Jaiya, Paltrow’s intimacy coach Michaela Boehm, tantric sex educator Amina Peterson, erotic wholeness coach Darshana Avila, and bodywork practitioner Katarina “Kato” Wittich.
“We provide a space to be sexual and that’s no shame,” Avila explains.
In the first episode, Damon and Erika are introduced to Jaiya’s principles of the five different erotic blueprints: energetic, sensual, sexual, kinky and the shapeshifter.
They learn that Damon is primarily ‘sexual’ meaning he is aroused by what is traditionally ‘sexual’ such as intercourse, orgasms, genitals, while Erika is highest energetic meaning she is aroused by anticipation, by desire and desire.
Troubled times: Rama and Felicitas reveal in the trailer that they were “about to divorce,” but they were guided through exercises to help them see Rama as the dominant partner sexually
To help them discover these five erotic principles, Jaiya releases toys including handcuffs, a wok cleaner, nipple clamps and Wolverine claws.
Wolverine claws prompt Erika to say “that’s hot,” while Damon, who thought his partner was more sexually conservative than him, says it makes him “nervous.”
Erika lies on a table while Damon tries several techniques, including beating her with a paddle and using a vibrator wrapped in a piece of furry cloth. Erika reacts positively, even when Damon touches her behind the knees.
At the end of the session, Jaiya tells him, ‘Her whole body is a wonderland of pleasure and orgasmic pleasure. You can see that, her twitching this way or that, and it feels really good.’
Meanwhile, Damon discovers that his body is much more sensitive than he initially thought, with Erika bringing him to the point of orgasm simply by touching his chest, body and legs.
To show how effective non-genital stimulation can be, Jaiya demonstrates an energetic orgasm with her own partner.
Just another job? Another woman admits her partner compares sex to brushing their teeth while trying to boost their sex life
Fair: There are also plenty of tears in the trailer, which shows contestants grappling with a myriad of emotions, including body insecurity
Meanwhile, Rama and Felicitas talked about how they had lost their spark through years of marriage.
“There is not enough environment to cultivate intimacy,” explains Rama. But Felicitas eventually confides that she feels like her husband has become a “third child” for her to take care of, causing her to lose interest in sex.
“One of the dynamics we want to break is the little boy/mom dynamic,” says Michaela.
She leads the couple through a series of exercises, including one in which Rama plays the role of emperor or king, taking more ownership of their sexual experience. He instructs his wife on how to get around.
“I like the way you look when you crawl,” he tells her. Felicitas says she hopes their journey gives hope to other married couples who feel they have nothing left to discover about each other.
