At the conservative political action conference [CPAC] on Saturday, president Donald Trump concluded the event with his keynote speech of an hour and a half, full of citable moments and applause rules. The crowd was particularly enthusiastic about his mocking imitation of the 2020 Democratic candidate and former mayor of NYC Mike Bloomberg.
“Mini-Mike, I know him well,” Trump said, with his deviant nickname for Bloomberg. “I knew that was going to happen, that was probably the worst discussion in the history of presidential debates.”
He said that Bloomberg will continue to spend money, but it shows that “you can’t buy elections.”
He then proceeded to the exchanges between Bloomberg and fellow Democratic candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
“Boy has Pocahontas destroy him,” Trump said, using his deviant nickname for Warren. “And look at what I did to her!”
“He didn’t know what struck him,” Trump said. “He goes” oh get me off this stage. “
Trump then squatted behind the stage and said in a mocking voice: “Take me away! Get me off this stage! “while the CPAC crowd exploded.
The cheering, whistling and laughter became a repeating song of “another four years” amid the roaring applause. The response lasted about 37 full seconds before Trump spoke again and said, “Well, thank you very much.”
Then there was another 12 second response before Trump added, “We’re hitting a nerve there, right?”
