Fury’s kind words come just under a fortnight after knocking out Wilder to win his trilogy fight.

Fury made it through a third hard-hitting contest between the pair at the T-Mobile Arena, eventually landing an 11th round knockout of the American to end a fight that saw every man sent to the mat on October 9.

After the loss, Wilder had initially refused to acknowledge his rival’s triumph, saying he had no respect for the British heavyweight, with much bad blood between rival sides for his trilogy.

‘Wow, what a hellish night!’ Wilder wrote on social media on October 14.

‘First of all, I would like to thank God for allowing me to give the world another part of me that is driven with passion and determination.

“ I would like to thank my team and my fans for being by my side during this long process.

‘I would be lying if I said that I was not disappointed with the outcome, but after reflecting on my journey, I now see that what God wanted me to experience is much greater than what He expected to happen.

“We didn’t get the victory, but a wise man once said that victories are within lessons. I learned that sometimes you have to lose to win.

Even though I wanted the win, I enjoyed watching the fans win even more. Hopefully, I proved that I am a true Warrior and a true King in this sport.

Hopefully we’ve shown that no matter how much trials and tribulations hit you, you can always rise up to live and fight again for what you believe in.

“Last but not least, I would like to congratulate @ gypsyking101 on their victory and thank them for the great historical memories that will last forever.”

Fury responded to Wilder’s post by tweeting: ‘The greatest trilogy ever.’

After his victory, Fury said that he had left no doubt that he is the best heavyweight of the era, his record is now 31-0-1, with 22 KOs.
