Travis Scott is back with another overpriced and overwhelming collaboration.
I’ve come to believe that much of the success the Missouri City resident has experienced with his partnerships with major brands lately is more smoke than substance. I think people are in love with everything ‘Travis Scott’, regardless of whether what he sells is anything good – see Cacti Agave Spiked Seltzer.
The latest in the rapper’s overpriced collaborations is a shoe deal with Air Jordan. The rapper teamed up with the mega brand to create the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 Retro SP “British Khaki”.
According to Joshua Espinoza of Complex, “the Houston rapper complemented his online store with a range of new merchandise inspired by the world of motorsport.”
I’m a big fan of neutrals, but this color scheme is absolutely disgusting. Obviously I don’t like it, but this hypebeast-esq release is just awful.
Undoubtedly, the release stays true to the Cactus Jack aesthetic, with its signature brown and beige. In addition to the shoe release, the rapper “Astroworld” included new merchandise: graphic T-shirts and hoodies, as well as rugby jerseys and backpacks. Like the shoes, the merchandise range is available in dark brown colors with splashes of red.
