Trailer for ‘Invasion’: the new Apple TV + series wants to be the definitive clash between ‘The War of the Worlds’ and ‘The arrival’
Apple TV + is, in this second half of the year, shooting series and projects of extraordinary interest at a rate that makes the plans of its competitors pale more direct. This same week we have the premiere of ‘Fundación’, the excellent quality of his ‘Ted Lasso’ has been amply recognized at the Emmys and even series that go more unnoticed like the second season of ‘See’ shine at great height.
In this vein, the platform presents for October ‘Invasion’, of which a trailer now comes to us that makes clear the tone and influences of this story that lands con the stamp of Simon Kinberg, producer of ‘Mars’ and screenwriter of many of the ‘X-Men’ films. On the one hand, the colossal aliens (or their machines, it is not clear) and the massacre of humans in ‘The War of the Worlds’ and on the other, the attempts to communicate with an extraterrestrial intelligence, a topic that has fascinated the public since the adaptation from ‘The Arrival’ by Villeneuve.
Aliens, aliens everywhere
As usual in productions that focus on an alien invasion, we will have the point of view of different cities in the world. The cast includes performers as diverse as Sam Neill, Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Firas Nassar, and Shioli Kutsuna. Kinberg will be joined as screenwriter by David Weil (‘Hunters’) and Emmy winner Jakob Verbruggen (‘The Alienist’, ‘The Fall’) directs all ten episodes this season.
It’s funny that A good part of the most powerful Apple TV + proposals are thematically oriented to science fiction, especially taking into account that the means that the platform is injecting into them in plain view are not exactly modest. One more reason to celebrate by fans of the genre.
