Premier League clubs have received a transfer boost amid reports Inter Milan will let go of talented center-back Stefan de Vrij at the end of the season.
The Serie A giants have received interest in their top two center-backs, De Vrij and Milan Skriniar, but reports in Italy say they only intend to sit down with one of them to discuss a new deal.
Calciomercato.com writes that, with both contracts expiring in June 2023, Inter plan to sit down with Skriniar, but are happy to let De Vrij leave for the summer.
Tottenham and more recently Newcastle have been credited with an interest in the Dutch defender, and it has been claimed that the Italian team will ‘sacrifice’ him in a bid to cut their salary expense and allow for some incoming transfers.
He is cared for by the notorious Mino Raiola, and other reports in Italy claim the superagent is seeking a Premier League club on behalf of his client.
Meanwhile, Skriniar is expected to sit down with the club’s leaders in early 2022 to discuss a new contract.
His current contract of 3 million euros a year expires in June 2023 and it is said that he will be offered a lucrative new contract of 4 million euros until June 2025.
Inter have been working hard behind the scenes to tie some of their most talented players to new contracts.
The likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martínez and Nicolo Barella have put pen to paper on new deals, and Skriniar is expected to be next on their wish list.
