Planter stands and wooden shelves are flying off the shelves at Kmart after a baker shared her handy tip for making a stylish cake stand using the two unlikely items and a hot glue gun.

Melbourne cake artist, Tigga, said she went to Kmart and picked up a $3.25 hairpin plant stand and a $6 wooden sign to make the “cheap and great cake stand.”

“All I did was go into my craft box and get my hot glue gun, spray some glue on the top of my kickstand,” she said in a TikTok video.

The baker said the glue doesn’t have to be neat because the top of the stand is not visible.

“Then I taped the stand to my wooden plank—you can see it’s kind of sitting in that little cut-out niche,” she said.

And Bob is your uncle, you have a pie platter for less than ten bucks.”

Tigga said she was “so obsessed” with the end result that she made two more and painted them black and pink.

The video has been viewed more than a million times since it was posted on TikTok three days ago and there are many comments from impressed users.
