Tielemans could replace star at Liverpool, Arsenal make official Buendia bid, Thiago Silva signs new Chelsea deal, Tottenham in Son new contract talks
According to sources, AC Milan has informed Chelsea that they will exercise their option to purchase Fikayo Tomori on a permanent move for £25 million.
In January, the England international moved to Italy on a six-month loan, cementing his place in Stefano Pioli’s starting lineup at the expense of club captain Alessio Romagnoli.
In recent days, the Serie A club has been in discussion with Chelsea in an attempt to reduce the £25 million sum agreed in January, but the Blues have refused to budge on their value.
During his tenure at Milan, the 23-year-old made 17 league games, scoring once at Juventus, and was instrumental in the club’s second-place finish and return to the Champions League after a seven-year absence.
AC Milan is anticipated to complete the paperwork and make the announcement next week.
Olivier Giroud has joined Thiago Silva and Thomas Tuchel in signing a new deal with Chelsea, just a week after winning the Champions League.
The France international, who finished as the Blues’ top scorer in Europe, was linked with a move to AC Milan after accepting a bit-part role behind Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
Despite this, the former Arsenal striker has committed his future to the Blues, having signed a one-year agreement in April.
“Olivier has been such a critical part of so many memorable moments for our club, from his contribution to our FA Cup success in 2018 to scoring 11 goals on the road to winning the Europa League in 2019,” Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said.
“He’s kept scoring important goals, and we’ll never forget his performance against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final this season.
“With so much yet to play for, there was only one decision we could make in April when we exercised his contract extension option.”
