- A bear is successful, but a brother quickly alerts him that he is trying to join them.
This is the moment the camera captured the hilarious attempts of three bear cubs to get into a hammock.
Tourists in the Smoky Mountains filmed black bears comically dropping to the ground every time they tried to climb into the hammock.
At the beginning of the clip, filmed on October 5, one of the bears has managed to get into the hanging bed. But they soon find out when a brother clumsily tries to join them.
The trio of cubs fall on their backs after their joint attempt to get into the rope hammock in the Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Then two of the three cute creatures try to work as a team trying to get into the hammock together.
Unfortunately for them, this doesn’t work either, as they send them flying and land on their furry backs.
The anonymous filmmaker, who shared the images online yesterday, said: “ During a short family vacation in the Smoky Mountains, we heard some noise outside our cabin.
“To our surprise, we discovered three bear cubs playing in the hammock while mother bear was nearby, keeping watch.”
One puppy reaches the hammock before another lets go of it in an attempt to steal the comfortable position.
The 15-second clip, filmed in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has been viewed more than 80,000 times on YouTube with comments praising the natural humor.
One user also commented that a raven in the background sounded like it was laughing at the unfortunate antics of bears.
Adult bears are known for their climbing prowess, but it seems these cubs need a bit more practice.
The jealous bear tries to get hold of the hammock and cruelly pulls his lying friend out of the sling.
The National Park Service (NPS) estimates that there are about 1,500 black bears in the Smoky Mountains, out of the 25,000 bear population in the United States.
The service says that bears are quite used to having contact with humans, which makes attacks rare.
The range, which stretches between North Carolina and Tennessee, is one of the largest protected areas in the eastern United States.
Visitors are advised not to feed the animals to limit the amount of contact they have with humans.
