The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 with NFC arrives in Spain: paying from the Xiaomi bracelet will finally be possible after allying with Mastercard

It has taken six generations, but finally Xiaomi will offer ‘contactless’ payments from its smart bracelet. After many years available in China, the version with NFC of the Mi Band arrives in Spain. It is the same Mi Smart Band 6 that we know, but with the incorporation of NFC technology that will allow payments from the bracelet.

Thanks to the increase in card payments due to the pandemic, from Xiaomi they explain that they “have reflected” and have been encouraged to launch the version with NFC of their smart bracelet. A bracelet that will arrive in Spain at the end of 2021, more than a year after its official presentation and halfway between this generation and the one that will foreseeably end up arriving next year.

Mi Band 6 Nfc

The argument repeated to date was that in China mobile payments were very widespread, but here in Spain the incorporation of NFC increased the price and they were not encouraged to launch it. This has changed, according to Xiaomi herself after the presentation event of the new Xiaomi 11T Pro and Xiaomi Pad 5.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6, analysis: as recommended and imperfect as ever

In collaboration with Mastercard, the new Mi Band 6 NFC will allow you to pay with the bracelet “quickly, safely and comfortably”. Users of the bracelet are expected to be able to bring your wrist close to the dataphone in a similar way to how you bring your card or mobile closer.

Additionally, this new version of the Mi Band 6 will incorporate Amazon Alexa to receive information through voice commands.

The new Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 NFC will be available in Spain at the end of the year at a price of 54.9 euros, slightly above the official 44.99 euros of the standard version of the Mi Band 6.
