The most interesting device of the two that Huawei has brought to our borders is the Huawei Nova 9. It is a premium mid-range device, with a back in stellar blue (iridescent) or black, anti-slip engraving and anti-fingerprint coating that weighs 175 grams and whose thickness remains at 7.77 millimeters.

On the front we have a 6.57-inch curved OLED panel with FullHD + resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) that stands out for having a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 300 Hz of touch sampling and being compatible with HDR10. Huawei has also mentioned that its color accuracy is Delta E <1 (very accurate).

Under the hood we find a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor (remember that Huawei has blocked access to 5G components), 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Interestingly, the operating system is Android 11 with EMUI 12 and not HarmonyOS, as you might have expected. For the battery, 4,300 mAh with a 66W fast charge that, according to Huawei, charges the mobile in half in half an hour.

Like other previous models, neither the Nova 9 nor the Nova 8i have the Google application ecosystem

Finally, and in relation to photography, we find a main sensor of 50 megapixels with RYYB sensor (which according to Huawei is more sensitive to light), an eight megapixel wide angle, a macro and a depth sensor, both of two megapixels. The front camera consists of a 32 megapixel sensor of which it should be noted that it records in 4K resolution.

The other device that Huawei has brought to Spain is the new 8i. It is a much more modest terminal than the previous one. This has a simple rear, but with a camera module reminiscent of the Mate 40. It is circular, generous in size and with four lenses that we will talk about later. The back will be available in pink silver and black.

Huawei P50 and P50 Pro: the long-awaited jump in refresh rate in this family is official along with its striking design

On the front we find a 6.67 inch IPS / LCD screen (somewhat smaller than the Nova 9) and more basic. Its resolution is FullHD +, but its refresh rate stays at 60 Hz. What the company has implemented is a touch sampling system of up to 180 Hz.

The engine is made up of a Snapdragon 662 processor (launched in January 2020), 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, this being the only version available. The battery is 4,300 mAh and its fast charge is, like that of the Nova 9, of 66W. The operating system is also the same, Android 11 with EMUI 12 and not HarmonyOS.

We close with the camera. Like the Nova 9, this terminal incorporates four rear cameras, but this time captained by a 64 megapixel sensor. The others are a wide-angle, a macro, and an eight-, two-, and two-megapixel depth sensor, respectively. The front camera also has lower resolution than the Nova 9, being 16 megapixels instead of 32.
