The application to check if our computer is compatible with Windows 11 can now be downloaded

Windows 11 is right around the corner. If everything goes as planned, on October 5 we will have among us the new version of Microsoft’s operating system. However, this release has been surrounded by some controversy due to the requirements, particularly the processors and the TPM.

So that users could check if their equipment met the requirements Microsoft launched the app PC Health Check. The app had certain problems, so Microsoft withdrew it and promised an updated version for later. Well, that version has already arrived and is available to all users.

The truth is that the tool was already available to Insider users. The novelty is that finally it is possible for any user, whether or not they are an Insider, to download it. To do this, you simply have to go to the Microsoft website, scroll to the bottom and download the app. Another option is to click directly on this link.

Once we have downloaded it, simply run the file and check if our computer meets the requirements of Windows 11. These, remember, are the following:

1 giga Hertz (GHz) or faster with DOS or more cores in a supported 64-bit processor or system on a chip (SoC)

4 GB or more

64 GB or more

UEFI, Supports Secure Boot

RPM 2.0

DirectX 12 or later compatible with WDDM 2.0 driver

High definition (720p) display over 9 “diagonal, with 8-bit channel per color

Windows 11 Home requires a Microsoft account and Internet connectivity

When the app has checked our PC it will tell us what requirements do we meet and what do we not. It is more useful information than a simple “This computer is not compatible with Windows 11”. Now you can find out why and, in fact, the tool itself offers links to further information.
