The three men are said to be part of a criminal syndicate responsible for importing the drug into Sydney’s shores.

Detectives from the NSW Drug and Firearms Squad arrested the men on Wednesday.

They were all denied bail to appear in court later on Thursday.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb spoke about last month’s arrest and raid at a press conference on Thursday, where she was joined by senior officers from the State Crime Command and the Australian Border Force.

“Police will allege that the men were part of a criminal syndicate that was well equipped and highly sophisticated,” she said.

“We suspect the impact of this attack will be felt across Sydney and New South Wales in the coming months.”

The commissioner revealed that the drugs were ‘hidden in marble stone’ when they were discovered in the containers.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said in a news conference on Thursday that the seized drugs were equivalent to “7.5 million individual ice cream deals” that “would no longer be on our streets or harm the health of our citizens.”
