Adamu gained his first senior experience playing for FC Liefering, Salzburg’s reserve team, scoring 26 goals in 49 appearances in three seasons in Austria’s second division.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Gallen in Switzerland, scoring eight goals in 18 games and has returned to Salzburg this season.
The Austrians are leaders in both their national league and the Champions League group with Adamu, scoring £ 15 million, contributing four goals and one assist in their 19 appearances so far, six of which have started. .

As well as alerting several clubs, including Southampton, Adamu’s progress has also put him at the center of an international tug of war.
He has excelled and been prolific for Austria at the youth level, playing from under 18 to under 21.
But he was born in Nigeria and is eager to summon Adamu to his senior squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.
