Sony WF-C500 and Sony WH-XB910N: new TWS and headband wireless devices with a lower price and without sacrificing noise cancellation
Completely wireless or TWS headphones are undoubtedly in fashion, and manufacturers are constantly filling the showcase. Sony is one of them, with a long catalog of audio devices that has now been expanded with the new Sony WF-C500 y los Sony WH-XB910N, the latter being diadem.
Some headphones that are placed in range below the “final bosses” to date, the Sony WF-1000XM4 and the Sony WH-1000XM4 respectively (the nomenclature of the brand, always so intuitive). Hence, they are somewhat more affordable, although without giving up remarkable features such as noise cancellation or portability.
It seems that the WF-C500 have a more youthful approach, seeing that in addition to the usual black and white, coral and light green colors are added. They have IPX4 resistance certification and the shape is very rounded, seeing that the case is elongated and also with more curves than that of the WF-1000XM4, thus seeking to be more comfortable to carry (for example, in a tight pocket).
This box has a weight of 35 grams, with 5.4 grams for each earbud. Playback control is done thanks to the buttons, so that the voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant) can also be called.
The key point is autonomy, promising 10 hours of playback on a single charge. This autonomy can be extended up to 20 hours counting on what the charging box gives.
On the other hand, the WF-C500 have a diaphragm of 5.8 millimeters and support DSEE, which promises a good treatment of the highest frequencies and that the sound has a good dynamic range. In addition, there is the Sony app, which usually adds some options to adjust the user experience and in this case allows equalization according to gender or personal preferences.
For the headband headphones, what we saw in their higher predecessors has remained a lot, although with some different details (such as the end of the headband). It is added in this case the color blue as a distinctive note and come with a cover and a cable, in case listening to it is necessary.
In this case it stands out noise cancellation that they accompany with their own technology to enhance the bass. Explains the brand that inside they have specialized the design so that this is possible working so that the separation between the driver and the ear is the most propitious.
They have two built-in microphones and also support DSEE. In addition, in this case they have the Adaptive Sound Control function, with which the experience can be adapted to the environment and change depending on whether it is in a noisy or quieter context.
Speaking of autonomy, in this case they reach 30 hours getting 4.5 hours with 10 minutes of charge. And the interesting thing is also that you can connect with two Bluetooth devices at the same time, so that you can switch from one to the other with a button.
