Q I am so tired of the sagging skin on the inside and on the front of my upper arms. Is there anything that can strengthen it?

AN Radiofrequency microneedling is very popular for its ability to activate firming and lift tissue formation in the deeper layers of the skin without significantly damaging the skin’s surface.

It softens and firms facial skin, but can do the same for crepe, saggy body areas.

The new Profound device is the most powerful yet, offering the ability to safely heat tissues to 67c for four seconds.

‘This gives me a measurable increase in collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in a single treatment,’ says Dr Sophie Shotter.

She performed the procedure on my knee area; it involved painful injections of local anesthetic to prevent me from feeling the hot microneedles poking through my skin.

There was swelling and bruising that took many weeks to recover, but Dr. Shotter, in most patients it disappears ‘within a week’, and after three months my skin has visibly tightened.

Search candelamedical.com/uk/ for your nearest clinic; dr. Shotter (drsophieshotter.com) charges £4,500 for both arms.

It’s worth mentioning, however, that no non-surgical procedure can completely ‘come back’ severely sagging skin – that would require surgery, such as an arm lift costing over £6,000.
