Shares ended slightly higher on Friday with the S&P 500 SPX,
and Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA,
clearing past losses in late trading as Apple Inc. shares AAPL,
built on profits to rise more than 10% after that and other tech giants delivered massive results the night before. The Dow finished with a gain of about 115 points, or 0.4%, close to 26,429, according to preliminary figures, while the S&P 500 moved about 25 points, or 0.8%, to close nearly 3,271. The technically heavy Nasdaq Composite COMP,
jumped around 157 points and finished around 10,745, a 1.5% gain. For the month, the Dow increased by 2.4%, while the S&P 500 increased by 5.5% and the Nasdaq Composite by 6.8%.
