The monarch, 94, “is firmly convinced that this nonsense can and should not continue,” a source said. “She wants the boys to sit down and solve their differences like adult adults.”
A second source says that Her Majesty hoped that the brothers would have the opportunity to sit face-to-face and unpack things Princess Beatricewedding when it was originally scheduled for May. (William and Harry’s nephew ended the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in mid-July in a small ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.)
Now she hopes the former military pilot, 35, will leave Los Angeles – where he lived with his wife Meghan Markle and their 14-month-old son, Archie – and come to Balmoral before the end of the summer to talk things through with William, 38.
“She wants her to chat in person,” says the second source, “not on the phone or through Zoom, which wouldn’t be as effective.”
As U.S Previously reported, the siblings have spoken more since Harry and Meghan, 38, gave up their royal titles in March – but there’s still a lot the two need to work on.
“William is so tired and done with the drama of it all,” a source said U.S in June. “Seeing Harry disconnect from virtually every aspect of his English life and identity is so hard to fathom.”
