Keane described Maguire’s performance as “an absolute disgrace for the club” and insisted that the center-back should speak on the field and not in interviews.

Left-back Shaw was also criticized by Keane, who proceeded to poke fun at Maguire’s apology by making an impression of him.
Despite criticism from Keane, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka and Shaw started United at Tottenham on Saturday.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: ‘Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is really worried about the chances of them giving up. They need to show some character. Maguire and Shaw last week, they were an absolute disgrace to the club. ‘
Aaron Wan-Bissaka also struggled against Liverpool. The right-back joined United for £ 50 million from Crystal Palace in 2019, but Keane suggested Palace wouldn’t take him on now.

He said: ‘Wan-Bissaka, I don’t think Palace will accept it now, it’s not good enough for Manchester United.’
United were overwhelmed by Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah scoring a hat-trick, while Naby Keita and Diogo Jota also hit the mark.
Solskjaer’s team has endured a frustrating season so far despite the return of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Keane stated that Maguire’s disappointing performances had nothing to do with the defender’s fitness level and was more of a lack of professionalism.
Additionally, Keane said that while United have talented attacking players, there are significant questions regarding some of their defenders and midfielders.
Luke Shaw was also criticized, and Keane said the left-back is now fighting again.
Plus, Keane feels like, after a period of good form, Shaw is struggling again.
Keane said: ‘I heard Maguire speak during the week, there’s no emotion behind it. Shaw has fallen back into his old habits from a few years ago.
Maguire needs to fix his game. It has nothing to do with fitness, it is just a lack of professionalism. There are clearly talented players at the top of the field. Midfield and defensively you worry. ‘
Maguire, who cost United £ 80 million when he arrived from Leicester in 2019, has struggled to maintain consistency during his time at the club despite often being praised for his performances with England.
After the game against Liverpool, Maguire spoke to the media, telling Sky Sports: ‘First of all, I apologize to the fans. He’s not good enough at this club. We are all disappointed.
‘The only real thing is that we have to apologize to the fans. They stayed with us, singing and chanting the 5-0, but for us as a club we have to do better.
I think it was too open. I am not here to analyze the game. We are very disappointed, we gave them too many opportunities, they were really clinical.
Defensively, and I’m a defender first and foremost, conceding five at home at Old Trafford isn’t good enough.
‘As a player, I know myself, I will look at myself as an individual and the performance of the team, I am the captain and I lead the guys. We have to unite and stick together. ‘
