Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United will appoint current PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager, but not until the summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked the weekend after the 4-1 loss at Watford, and Michael Carrick, part of the former coaching staff, has temporarily taken over.
During his tenure, United will look to name an interim boss until the end of the season, although Pochettino has quickly emerged as a potential candidate.

Sportsmail revealed that Pochettino, the former Tottenham manager, is interested in leaving Paris and filling the vacancy at Old Trafford mid-season.
Ferdinand, however, believes this move will only happen in several months, and has tipped a left-field candidate to cover until then.
‘I don’t think Pochettino will leave PSG during the season,’ he said in Vibrate with FIVE. ‘He is a man of integrity, he is a man of respect.

“I think he’s grateful for the opportunity to be at PSG and, as a man, I think he will just say, ‘If they love me that much, they’ll wait.’

“ He has a lot at stake at PSG, so you have to be respectful in that sense.
“ It is also about what PSG wants because it is not the type of club that will simply give up its coach.
Pochettino is ready to leave PSG now after struggling with big egos and joining United mid-season.
“I’m putting money in Pochettino, by the end of the season, the beginning of next season, my money is in Pochettino as a coach.”
Pochettino is understood to be unhappy with life in France, with his family still living in London while staying at a Paris hotel.
He has also struggled to muster the big locker room egos at his current club, such as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.
Several other coaches have been proposed to take the helm of United until the end of the season, including Carrick, former player Laurent Blanc and Ralf Rangnick.

Currently, Queiroz, 68, runs Egypt. He spent two seasons at United as manager with Sir Alex Ferguson, and has also managed Portugal, Iran and Colombia.
