Carlo Ancelotti could be ready for a new deal at Real Madrid, with senior ups at the club in a state of bliss and keen for the Italian to continue his good work at the Bernabeu after his current deal.

Ancelotti is not even halfway through his current contract, which expires in 2024, but according to… marca steps are underway to tie the 63-year-old to an extended contract with the European champions.

The Italian had a successful season last year, winning the Supercopa de Espana, the LaLiga title and Madrid’s fourteenth Champions League win when they defeated Liverpool in June.

So far this season he has enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, with four LaLiga wins out of four and an opening group win over Celtic in their Champions League defence.

Ancelotti was seen on a temporary basis when he succeeded Zinedine Zidane in June 2021. After a disappointing spell at Everton, he faced the tough job of stepping into the shoes of one of the most successful managers in Madrid’s history.

However, the four-time Champions League winning manager has overseen a transition that has continued Real’s winning ways and harmonized a dressing room full of big international names.

Sources at the club have credited the current mood by saying it is one of the best changing rooms ever seen in the club. With Ancelotti able to alleviate the problems surrounding players like Isco, Eden Hazard and the now-departed Gareth Bale and Marcelo.

The former Italian international has also been able to achieve success without bringing in big names. The club did not recruit David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga until 2021 and Aurelian Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger this summer.

He was also praised for improving the performances of Viniscus Jr and Rodrygo, while also extending the careers of the stalwarts Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is delighted with his current manager’s second stint at the club, where he has won four of the five competitions in which he has led the club – with the latest in their Super Cup victory earlier this month.

It’s a winning run that has seen Ancelotti show a 73% win rate since taking over just over a year ago. Almost equal to the 75% he achieved during his first stint in Madrid.

The LaLiga leaders will be in action tomorrow afternoon as they aim to make it five wins out of five at home against Real Mallorca.
