Razer unveils the BlackShark V2 with TriForce Titanium 50mm drivers and passive noise cancellation – a great pair of headsets for $ 99
Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the definitive esports headset with the Razer BlackShark V2. With the all-new Razer TriForce Titanium 50mm drivers, Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic with USB sound card, advanced passive noise cancellation and THX Spatial Audio’s new Game Profiles feature making its debut, the BlackShark V2 is the new highlight of multi-platform, wired gaming headsets – designed and tested in collaboration with some of the world’s top esports athletes.
Brand new audio drives provide clear audio with little outside noise
In esports, clarity of sound and communication is everything. Being able to hear the slightest audio clue and communicate clearly with teammates makes the difference between the glory of victory and a footnote on the tournament list. For the Razer BlackShark V2, Razer has developed an all-new 50mm audio driver that, combined with a new custom tuned mic and superior passive noise canceling earcups, creates the ultimate triple threat in esports – clear sounds, clear communication and minimal external noise – a deadly audio trinity.
The Razer BlackShark V2 is equipped with an all-new, patented 50mm driver, the Razer TriForce Titanium. Using titanium-coated diaphragms, in an advanced, patented design, the TriForce Titanium drivers separate the audio frequencies and allow for individual tuning of the treble, mid and bass, resulting in clearer treble, a rich midrange and a powerful bass. The TriForce drivers are complemented by THX Spatial Audio – an advanced positional audio solution for utmost accuracy and lifelike, immersive in-game sound compatible with stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 sources. The advanced spatial THX algorithms and world modeling technology, combined with unprecedented user customization options, provide a 360 degree soundscape tailored to each player’s ears. THX Spatial Audio makes locating enemies, avoiding buzzing bullets and detecting nearby threats simple and natural, giving gamers and esports athletes the infamous Razer ‘unfair advantage’.
Clear communication in the heat of battle is key to victory, so for the BlackShark V2, Razer developed the HyperClear Cardioid microphone with USB sound card. The HyperClear Cardioid Mic is tuned for a more focused voice recording area, eliminating rear and side sounds for clearer speech. The open housing design of the removable microphone provides minimal pick-up interference for more accurate recording and recreation of your voice. The additional USB sound card offers advanced microphone control for even more tuning. Features such as Mic Boost, Voice Gate, Volume Normalization, Microphone Equalizer and Ambient Noise Reduction allow players to adjust their voice output to minimize the noise of their surroundings, disrupting critical team communication.
At tournaments, whether at home, a LAN or on the main stage of a tournament final, outside noise can be an unwanted distraction. The subtle audio cues from other players and the in-game environment can be lost when real life sound seeps into the headset. The advanced passive noise canceling properties of the BlackShark V2 are due to the fully-enclosed design of the oval earcups, surrounded by a soft, leatherette-lined foam cushion. This forms a consistent seal between the BlackShark V2 and the wearer’s head, minimizing intrusive external sounds. Using an ultra-soft, breathable memory foam, the ear cushions also minimize heat and perspiration build-up, for comfort even during long, intense gaming sessions. A soft, well-padded headband over a lightweight stainless steel frame provides a flexible and extremely durable design with minimal head clamping of just 262g.
With its wired 3.5mm audio jack, the Razer BlackShark V2 is compatible with any 3.5mm jack device, including PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and many mobile devices. The additional USB sound card is only compatible with Windows 10 PCs.
