Queen releases commemorative souvenirs on the occasion of platinum jubilee

A new range of porcelain commemorative items to celebrate the Queen’s platinum anniversary has gone on sale.

Produced by the Royal Collection Trust, the set includes tableware made by hand using English fine china and methods and techniques dating back 250 years.

The collection was created in Stoke-on-Trent on the occasion of next year’s Platinum Jubilee, which will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the royal throne on the throne.

The design and color scheme of the series are inspired by the mantle of Her Majesty’s estate, worn on her coronation day on June 2, 1953.

Set against a purple background, it has golden ears of olive and wheat and leaves, symbolizing peace and abundance.

The central feature is a coat of arms with the national emblems of the UK comprising roses, shamrocks, thistles and daffodils.

It is framed by a circular border of oak leaves, an emblem of strength, stability and longevity. Prices range from £150 for a plate, £65 for a teacup and saucer to £2.95 for a mini tube of Scottish shortbread.

Products can be purchased online from the Royal Collection Trust’s website and will be sold in the Royal Collection Trust’s shops at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace and on Buckingham Palace Road, and in the Royal Collection Trust’s shops at Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
