Queen Letizia of Spain Joins Swedish Royal Family at State Banquet

The Swedish Royal Family treated King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain to a glamorous state banquet tonight at the Royal Palace in Stockholm as part of the couple’s two-day visit.

Mother of two Letizia, 49, turned heads in a navy blue ruffled ball gown and glittering tiara, while Crown Princess Victoria, 44, heir to the Swedish throne, who arrived with her husband Prince Daniel, opted for a floral-decorated gown and with gemstone encrusted tiara for the occasion.

She was joined by Princess Sofia, 36, Prince Carl Philip, 42, as well as King Carl Gustaf, 75, and Queen Silvia, 77, as they hosted the Spanish royal couple.

Wearing her brown locks, Letizia slid back into a chic bun, dazzled by diamonds – including an impressive tiara, eye-catching earrings and matching bracelets.

Princess Sofia, who shares three children with her husband Prince Carl Philip, showed her fashion talent in a form-fitting white dress, paired with a glittering clutch. Her husband looked neat in his formal attire.

Elsewhere, Queen Silvia was a bronzed beauty in a metallic gown with pearl detailing on the overlay, while her husband looked equally charming in all his finery.

Earlier in the day, Letizia and her husband attended an official welcoming ceremony for their state visit to the Royal Palace in Stockholm, along with the Swedish royal family.

She again proved her fashion prowess when she turned heads in a striking bold red dress, complete with matching statement headpiece.

The royal, who donned a tan cape-style coat, complete with a fur neckline, completed her ensemble with a pair of matching stiletto heels, a mini purse and matching gloves.

Meanwhile, Queen Silvia of Sweden, 77, opted for a vibrant purple coat and hat – she added a butterfly brooch and a pair of dark purple block heels to complete her polished look.

Meanwhile, Felipe, 53, looked equally polished for the visit in response to an invitation from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

The Spanish royal family pays a two-day state visit to Sweden. The trip comes less than a week after the couple held a glittering state banquet in honor of Italian President Sergio Mattarella’s visit to Spain.

On Tuesday, the couple was seen from Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport, the Spanish royal family was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Science and Innovation and the Secretary of State for Trade.

Later, they arrived at the residence of the Embassy of Spain in Sweden, where Felipe addressed the Spanish residents and said: ‘All of you, those who have been here longer and those who are still looking for your place in this new host country, we want to send you a message of support, as you represent much of the best of our country beyond our borders.’

He added: ‘We are sure that you will show not only your work ability and dedication, but also your tenacity and resourcefulness, as well as your excellent education.’

Sweden’s Hispanic community has grown steadily over the past decade, reaching 37.12 percent in five years, as Spaniards emigrate to take advantage of employment opportunities.
