During Saturday’s coronavirus briefing, President Trump was asked whether his own hospitality businesses could receive government support on a possible rescue package. The president did not rule out the possibility.
“Do you expect your family businesses to seek help if this is eligible,” a reporter asked in the Covid-19 press.
“I don’t know. I just don’t know what government support would be for what I have,” Trump said. “I have hotels. Everyone knew I had hotels when I was chosen. They knew I was a successful person when I was chosen, so it is one of those things. “
“I think I get $ 450,000 a year, I give up. I put it back in the nation, I usually have to, by the way, you have to indicate where you want it, so I often give it to opioids, you know, research and stuff, ‘said Trump, as the reporter jumped to say he was referring to the companies and not to Trump personally.
“But as for the hotels and everything, I mean I have to do what the rest do,” Trump said.
“I would probably decide to shut things down. I think it’s a good thing across the country, you don’t want people to get together, hotels and clubs and everything you get together. We want to beat this deal, ”Trump added. “So I have many. Hotels, clubs, things like that where people gather. I would think it would be good practice to close them. ‘
