Peloton obsessives and Dancing With the Stars fans are arguing over the results of the show’s semifinals.
Many people were left shocked after famed Platoon Instructor Cody Rigsby and his partner, Cheryl Burke, reached the final round on Monday, Nov. 15 — despite getting the lowest score of the night from the judges. And now they wonder how he got enough votes to stay in the competition.
Suni Lee and Sasha Farber, as well as Melora Hardin and Artem Chigvintsev, were ultimately voted out — and some people weren’t happy that Cody and Cheryl beat them. But Cody’s fans soon swooped in and came to his rescue — starting a major war between the two groups.

Viewers are wondering how Cody got enough votes to stay in the competition — and some have even accused Peloton fans of starting a ‘cult’ in an effort to save him
In addition to Cody and Cheryl, JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach, and Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten have all made it through to the final round, which will air on November 22.
Each week, the pair that gets the lowest total of jury points and audience votes will be eliminated. So when Cody and Cheryl got the judges’ lowest score of the night—a 71—viewers began to wonder how they beat Suni and Sasha and Melora and Artem.
“I’m trying to figure out why Suni got eliminated and not Cody,” one fan wrote after the episode aired, alongside a well-known meme of a woman trying to figure out a major math problem.
‘Uh WHAT! CODY WENT TO THE FINAL AND MELORA DON’T?!’ added another person.
A third tweet read: “So Suni did stunts and flips and got sent home while Cody was just there on stage.”
Some viewers even accused Peloton fans of forming a “cult” so they could vote for Cody and keep him in the competition.
‘Are platoon users in a cult? What is happening? Cody about Suni?’ one Twitter user asked.
People in the pack stop voting for Cody! I know you love him but he didn’t deserve to go to final night,” another wrote.
Someone else added: ‘This Peloton cult must be stopped!’
And Cody’s fans didn’t seem to deny these claims. One joked: ‘Never underestimate the power of the Peloton community and that’s a FACT.’
‘LOL’ to myself about all the tweets hating Cody going to the finals on #DWTS. If you don’t do Peloton, you just don’t get it,” said another.
A third person shared a video of a group of people riding bicycles and captioned it: “Peloton people who are going to vote for Cody every week.”
“Peloton society reading all the comments and wondering how Cody made it to the finals,” wrote another person, alongside a video of the Grinch smiling very suspiciously.
It turns out that even Cody and Cheryl were shocked that they made it to the final round.
“I’m still in shock, to be quite honest. I didn’t think it would happen, no,” Cheryl . said We Weekly after the semi-final.
“It’s crazy. I mean, of course I’ve seen it before on a show like this, with Bobby Bones and stuff, but you just never think it’s going to happen to you, I guess.”
In season 27 of the show, Bobby surprised the nation when he took home the gold – especially since he had never scored more than 24 out of 30 during the 2018 season.
Cody added, “Listen, we were at the bottom of the totem pole. So we were like, “Okay, this is our night. We tried our best.”‘

The pair, who were in the bottom two last week, started the night dancing salsa and scored a 35 out of 40. Then they danced the Argentine tango, earning a 36 out of 40 – giving them a total of 71 points for the night.
“It’s really scary. I mean, this day has been a rollercoaster of emotions,” Cheryl told the outlet of their scores. ‘And to even dance from, like, the tango, to, you know, dancing [to] Live your life. And then that elimination, it was really scary. We’re just happy to be here. Thank you, judges!’
Early in the season, the two stars tested positive for COVID-19, and Cody later revealed that he was actually considering quitting after that.
“We definitely had a very bumpy, very rocky start here. I remember talking to my boss or a friend of mine and I was like, “Should I just stop? Shouldn’t I? Like, I have COVID, it’s going to be crazy,” he previously shared. page six.

In the end, the Platoon Instructor said he was “so happy” to stay on the show.
