Overweight woman reveals how her obese mother’s near-death experience motivated her to shed 10 stones

One super slim has revealed how her mother’s near-death experience after getting gallstones in 2015 motivated her to lose an incredible 10th, to ensure her daughter wouldn’t grow up without a mother

Senior learning supporter Kimberly Fisher, 33, of Basingstoke, England, lost 10 pounds and went from 21 to 11 10 pounds in just a year, after being motivated by her own mother’s health anxiety.

The single mother of one explained that her mother, who is also overweight, developed complications after developing gallstones in 2015 and nearly died when her organs started shutting down.

It convinced Kimberly to swap ready meals and cheesecakes for healthy dinners and exercise so she wouldn’t risk suffering the same fate and leaving her daughter Bella, six, without a parent.

After losing the weight, Kimberly, who is now a size 10, is a qualified personal trainer who helps others in their weight loss journey and receives flirty messages from admirers on social media.

Kimberly’s unhealthy connection to food started when she was 16 when she was in a toxic relationship and eating junk food until she felt sick.

When she became pregnant in 2015, she again turned to food for comfort, eating McDonalds, ready meals and cheesecakes on a regular basis.

Kimberly said she was called “disgusting” and “fat” but didn’t care until her mother’s weight led to a near-death experience.

In 2015, Kimberly’s mother developed gallstones due to being 19 and overweight – and her weight led to further complications, with her organs starting to shut down.

As a single mother to her daughter Bella, six, Kimberly decided she wanted to do everything she could to reduce the risk of her child being left without a parent.

“It wasn’t until my mother became very ill that I started to worry about my own health,” Kimberly says.

“I never really worried about how I looked, but then she got gallstones because she was very overweight.

“She seemed to be one of the unlucky ones as it led to serious complications where her organs started shutting down and I almost lost her.

After her mother nearly died of gallstones due to obesity in 2015, Kimberly decided it was time to shed some pounds.  Pictured during a color run in 2017

“It was at this point that I knew I had to lose weight and take care of my health so I could watch my little girl grow up.”

Kimberly spent the following year reassessing what she ate, competed in Slimming World, and hit the gym regularly.

After losing 3rd 7 pounds, the mum-of-one took a year-long break from her weight loss journey, but got back on the horse in April 2017 and kicked it up a notch by going to booty camps and learning to powerlift.

Kimberly’s diet now includes low-calorie porridge or homemade pancakes for breakfast, feta pasta salad, homemade soups, homemade fakes, mac and cheese, and ramen.

Kimberley said she enjoys being able to buy nice clothes and beautiful lingerie because she felt it was inaccessible to her when she was at her heaviest weight (now pictured showing her yoga moves)

By May 2018, Kimberly had reached her target weight of 11 10 pounds, shaved off a massive 9th 7 pounds and dropped from a UK size 24 to size 10.

She has now become a qualified personal trainer, with people queuing up for her to help them on their own weight loss journeys.

“I’m the strongest I’ve ever been in my life and I love it,” she said.

“I can run after my daughter and my kids at work without feeling like I’m dying. I can wear nice clothes and buy nice lingerie, which I could never do before.

“Since losing weight, I’ve had more romantic attention online and in real life.

“I’ve had people try to add me through social media and ask me on dates, people I don’t know.

‘I also had unwanted attention when I was out and about, which I was never used to and found quite difficult.

“Mentally I feel a hundred times better about myself. I don’t have to worry about going to a fair because I’m too big to fit on a ride.

“People I haven’t seen in a while don’t recognize me.

‘I love myself much better. I like what I see in the mirror, but I’m also happier.’
