Oscars 2021: Anthony Hopkins shocks best actor, ‘Nomadland’ wins best film

The strangest Oscar race ever had a big surprise in store on Sunday evening.

Director Chloe Zhao’s acclaimed road-trip drama ‘Nomadland’ took the best picture, director and actress (Frances McDormand) at the 93rd Academy Awards, but the biggest shock came in the category of best actor where ‘The Father’ star Anthony Hopkins upset Chadwick. Boseman’s anticipated posthumous Oscar win for “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

Mainly at the historic Union Station in L.A., the Oscars also honored Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas and the Black Messiah”) for Best Supporting Actor and Yuh-jung Youn (“Minari”) took home the Best Supporting Actress.
