TAMPA, Fla. – Organizers of the Tampa Bay Comic Convention announced on Wednesday that the show will be canceled in 2020 due to the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the Bay Area.

In a Facebook post, the convention mentioned Tampa city leaders’ unease with the idea of ​​continuing the show, an unease shared by the organizers.

The show was originally scheduled to take place on the weekend of July 10-12 at the Tampa Convention Center.

Organizers said any pre-purchased tickets or purchased stand space for sellers would move their purchases to next year’s show, scheduled for July 30 – August 1.
