Odyssey Jailbreak Beta for iOS 13 to iOS 13.5 released to the public

While Apple no longer signs iOS 13.5 or iOS 13.5.1, CoolStar has now released the first beta version of the Odyssey jailbreak tool to the public. Earlier we heard that the Unc0ver team had filed a DMCA report against CoolStar to remove its GitHub repository. The verdict is not yet known, but now we have a new jailbreak tool.

Odyssey Jailbreak’s First Public Beta Released for iOS 13 to iOS 13.5 Amid Conflict with Unc0ver

The Unc0ver team claimed that CoolStar stole their code. While a DMCA counter was submitted, the decision on the idea is still pending. As mentioned earlier, the first beta version of the Odyssey jailbreak has been released to the public. While there isn’t much of a reason to be excited, it’s good to see that users now have alternatives and not just stick with one tool.

Apple stops signing iOS 13.5.1, downgrading from iOS 13.6 is no longer possible

The Odyssey jailbreak tool has been released for devices running iOS 13 to iOS 13.5. It is compatible with all devices with Apple’s A8 to A13 chips that offer us a wide range of iPhone and iPad models, including the new iPad Pro models. The fact that the jailbreak tool is not special is because users have already jailbroken their devices with the Unc0ver tool. From now on, support for new devices or the new iPadOS version will not be added.

The whole purpose of releasing the jailbreak to the public was to provide a superior user experience compared to Unc0ver and Checkra1n jailbreak. Keep in mind that if you plan to jailbreak your iPad with the Odyssey jailbreak tool, you must first use the RootFS Restore feature in Odyssey before switching to it.

Another important aspect to note is that the Odyssey jailbreak comes standard with Sileo package manager. Sileo recently received a major update that made it quite fast compared to the previous versions. Odyssey is different compared to Unc0ver or Checkra1n in that it is completely Swift-based. This makes the jailbreak tool faster, which improves the user experience.
