Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online, and there will be versions of their controllers for the Switch
In the last hours Nintendo has offered an online presentation of the news for its platform in the coming months. News in both titles and new functions and features. Among them, Nintendo has announced the arrival of Nintendo 64 games the SEGA Genesis to Switch Online, as well as wireless controls of these consoles and compatible with the Switch.
It is a strategy that we already saw with the NES three years ago, when Nintendo introduced its classic games to the Switch. Now it is the turn of two other consoles: the Nintendo 64 and the SEGA Genesis. This integration will come in the form of an expansion and will be launched at the end of October, although there is no exact date yet.
Nintendo has not wanted to detail much about the final price either. Under the name of ‘Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack’, this plan will cost more than the current one as it is an expansion, although it is not yet known exactly how much. Recall that currently Nintendo Switch Online costs from 3.99 euros for a month to 19.99 euros for a year.
Regarding the titles that will be available, these are the ones mentioned by Nintendo:
- Nintendo 64: ‘Super Mario 64’, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’, ‘Mario Kart 64’, ‘Star Fox 64’, ‘Sin and Punishment’, ‘Dr. Mario 64’, ‘Mario Tennis 64’, ‘WinBack’, ‘Yoshi’s Story’, ‘Banjo-Kazooie’, ‘Pokémon Snap’, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask’, ‘Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards’, ‘Mario Golf’, ‘Paper Mario’ y ‘F-Zero X’.
- SEGA Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog 2′, ‘Streets of Rage 2’, ‘Ecco the Dolphin’, ‘Castlevania: Bloodlines’, ‘Contra: Hard Corps’, ‘Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine’, ‘Golden Axe’, ‘Gunstar Heroes’, ‘M.U.S.H.A.’, ‘Phantasy Star IV’, ‘Ristar’, ‘Shining Force’, ‘Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master’ y ‘Strider’.
Two classic controllers come to the Switch
In addition to the new expansion of classic video games, Nintendo will also launch the classic controls for both consoles. These are the Nintendo 64 controller and the SEGA Genesis controller. Essentially they maintain the design and shape of these, but with modern technology to make them wireless and Bluetooth compatible with the Nintendo Switch.
According to Nintendo, both controllers will be available for purchase for US $ 49.99 each one for Nintendo Switch Online members.
