Neymar cries after victory over Peru
Brazil beat Peru 4-0 on Friday and thus isolated themselves in first place in Group B of the Copa América. Neymar started and scored one of the goals of the canarinho triumph, having at the end of the match collapsed in tears.
To journalists, Neymar confessed that in the last two years he has experienced a great whirlwind of emotions.
“It is obvious that for me it is a great honor to be part of the history of the Brazilian national team. To be very honest, my dream has always been to play for the national team, to wear that jersey. I never thought I’d get to these numbers. For me it’s kind of exciting, because I’ve been through a lot these two years that was very difficult and complicated. These numbers are nothing. The happiness that I have to play for Brazil, to represent my country, my family”, said Neymar, who reached 68 goals for the canarinhos.
Neymar also spoke about the position of the Brazilian team regarding the holding of the Copa América in his country.
“We came here without knowing much that was happening. We didn’t know if copa américa was going to be held if it wasn’t going to take place. From the very beginning we have greatly resonated our hierarchies. We’re never going to say no to the national team jersey, just got emotional about saying what the national team means. I will never say no to my country. Disagree or have a different opinion from the others, I think it’s respect for the other. We had our opinion and expressed it, but we’re here. It was very complicated, difficult, but the joy of being on the pitch for the national team will always exist”, also added the 10 jersey from Brazil.
