Dean Richards is delighted to have three of the England contingent in his starter pack
“We are delighted to have four guys included who represent every corner of our patch,” said rugby director Richards. You have Jamie Blamire from Cumbria, Callum Chick from Ponteland, Adam Radwan from Teesside and North Yorkshire and then Trevor Davison from the city itself.
“He’s brilliant and he really gives a good representation of the guys in our area who have very different backgrounds and histories. They are all good guys. He talks a lot about our academy and the players themselves.
“For years Mark Wilson was the only Newcastle player to get credit at the England level so it’s great that we have more of a presence there.”
Adam Radwan was also included in the England quartet, but is rested due to a minor injury.
