This season they will continue to discover family secrets in a very free adaptation of the original comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez.

First-run movies on Netflix

Oats Studios’, volumen 1

Oats Studios is the project that Neill Blomkamp set up a few years ago to producing sci-fi shorts without limits and experimenting with the latest in special effects. The director of ‘District 9’ or ‘Elysium’ used this small studio to release shorts with an aggressiveness and visual neatness that rivaled much larger budget productions, and that now arrive on Netflix after a season on YouTube. These are the shorts that could belong to that first batch:

  • Rakka
  • Cooking with Bill
  • Hood
  • Praetoria
  • God: City
  • Zygote
  • Gdansk

Premiere October 1

‘Army of thieves’

Set a few months before the zombie outbreak whose effects we saw in ‘Army of the Dead’, this prequel grabs one of the most notable characters of that one, the thief incarnated by Matthias Schweighöfer, to move in codes more typical of a heist movie. Schweighöfer himself directs this proposal that does not promise many undead, but a good amount of action, chases and safes impossible to open.

'Army of the Dead', criticism without spoilers: Zack Snyder recovers the shame of his beginnings in his zombie epic for Netflix

Documentaries and comedy specials on Netflix

Insiders

Netflix is strongly committed to realities (For now, and I see how they proliferate on the grid, it gives good results to the platform with imported formats) with one of its own creation and presented by Najwa Nimri. A kind of ‘Big Brother’ who seeks total spontaneity without notifying the contestants that they are already recording them. To know how this proposal will have been managed from the technical and narrative aspects, we will still have to wait for something else, but the premiere is just around the corner.
