Naya Rivera was buried in a drowning accident five days earlier, nearly two weeks after her body recovered at Piru Lake on July 13.
According to the first Glee death certificate of star, obtained by The blast on Thursday, July 30, Rivera was buried on July 24 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles.
The famous cemetery is also the final resting place of Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Paul Walker and more late actors.
The 33-year-old actress’s cause of death is listed as “drowning,” which confirmed the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office on July 14, a day after Rivera’s body was found near the lake.
The certificate stated that the drowning took only “minutes” and that there are no “other significant circumstances contributing to death.”
The findings are consistent with what the medical researcher previously reported. “The autopsy findings correspond to a drowning, and the condition of the body corresponds to the time she was submerged,” the Ventura County Medical Examiner released earlier this month. “At the autopsy, no traumatic injuries or disease processes were identified.”
The agency concluded, “There is no indication from the investigation or investigation that drugs or alcohol played a role in the death of the deceased, but samples will be submitted for toxicological testing.”
Rivera was reported missing on July 8 after her son, four-year-old son Josey, was located alone on the couple’s rented pontoon boat. When he was discovered, the Step Up: High Water star’s ID was still on board along with a life jacket, but she was nowhere to be found.
After five days of searching in the waters and surroundings of the lake, the actress’s body was discovered on July 13. Back then, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department revealed that Josey had seen his mother ‘disappear’ into the water after she managed to get him back on their boat. Her body was found much of her former at the same time Glee costars, inclusive Heather Morris and Amber Rileystood hand in hand on the bank.
“They were down there at the edge of the lake and prayed for about half an hour,” said Captain Eric Buschow, said a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office in Ventura County U.S only on July 14, a day after Rivera was pronounced dead. I didn’t go there and stand with them, so I don’t know what they were doing or saying except that they had expressed a desire to go there and pray. ‘
He added, “While they were praying, we received a call that the body had been discovered on the surface of the lake.”
Since her passing, Rivera’s friends, family and fans have taken to social media to grieve over her.
“We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family over the past week,” the late star’s family said in a statement to Deadline on July 14. “As we mourn the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honor her eternal legacy and magnetic spirit.”
The ex-husband of the California resident, Ryan Dorsey, with whom she shared Josey, broke his silence two weeks later, on July 25.
“I can’t believe this is life now. I don’t know if I’ll ever believe it. You were just there, ‘he wrote via Instagram. “We were just swimming with Josey the day before. Life just isn’t fair. I don’t know what to say. ‘
The Ray Donovan Actor, 37, added, “Life is all about good times and bad times, but with Josey it makes the bad a little less, because some of you will always be with us. He will never forget where he came from. We miss you. We will always love you. I love you Meep. 🖤 🖤 ”
