No meat here! While some stars love a good burger or roast chicken, others prefer a diet without meat. Vegetarians like Carrie Underwood, avoid foods like red meat, poultry and chicken, while vegan celebrities like Mayim Bialik stay away from meat and animal by-products, including eggs, cheese, milk and more.
The Big Bang Theory alum worked with chef and friend Ali Cruddas on Bodhi Bowl, a vegan restaurant in downtown Los Angeles that opened in May 2019. Although the eatery has since closed, it was committed to inspiring people to choose a healthier, greener and more compassionate lifestyle through plant-based eating.
Bialik, who has been a vegetarian since she was nineteen, started following a vegan diet more than a decade ago. “It was always a dream of ours to make vegan food more accessible to more people and more reasonably priced, because when I went vegan, there were no vegan options at all,” she said. Regarding Meat Free Mondays, where people cut meat from their diet one day a week, the “Hey Jude” singer added, “The truth is that there are many [vegetarian] options these days. What we do with Meat Free Monday urges people to try it for a day because it will make a kind of difference if enough people do it or if the idea spreads. ”
