Mercedes shows its new catalog of electric cars: EQE, EQB, two new concepts and an almighty Mercedes-AMD EQS
The future of Mercedes-Benz is electric, as he already showed us in his roadmap for the next two years. Now, little by little, that roadmap is becoming a reality. The automaker has presented up to three new electric vehicles, along with two concepts of what it envisions for the future.
Until now, Mercedes’ biggest bet on the electric platform is its Mercedes-Benz EQS, which was presented at the beginning of this 2021. It is a spectacular luxury sedan designed to mark the manufacturer’s guidelines in the electrical world. This EQS is now followed three new models.
Mercedes-Benz power generation
The first of the vehicles that Mercedes is the new Mercedes-Benz EQE. It is a fully electric sedan that promises the benefits of the EQS but in a more compact body. It’s like its own track name, the electrified E-Class. It has dimensions similar to the E-Class with combustion, but with more interior thanks to the fact that the electric platform occupies less volume.
Its features include an engine 288 horsepower and a 90 kWh battery, although they have not revealed the final autonomy it will have. Inside we find the spectacular Hyperscreen screen, which is optional. Mercedes has yet to reveal exact prices or arrival dates.
From the EQE we passed the Mercedes-Benz EQBIn this case we are facing a fully electric SUV that has a total of seven seats. A vehicle that will come in two models of 225 horsepower and 288 horsepower. Both come with all-wheel drive and a WLTP cycle range of 419 kilometers. The included battery Mercedes says it will support fast charging of up to 100 kW DC that will allow charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
Both outdoors and indoors there are clues that it is an electric by the bluish light strips that it implements. It does not have the Hyperscreen but it does have a widescreen infotainment screen. Production is expected to begin in September of this year and larrived at the end of 2021 in Europe and in 2022 in the United States.
Mercedes’ next electric vehicle is an all-electric luxury sedan, the new Mercedes-AMG EQS. An AMG beast that will have a total of 751 horsepower. It is the Mercedes sports sedan and is designed to squeeze the maximum power from the Mercedes electric platform. For this it comes with two electric motors (one on each axis).
The vehicle will have a speed limited to 250 km / h and it is estimated that it gets through from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds. Inside it has a 107.8 kWh battery with a custom battery management system and Comfort, Sport and Sport + driving modes. There is no date or price yet.
Two new concepts for the electric future of Mercedes
The concepts to which Mercedes has us accustomed are of another level. However, sometimes he also seeks to get a little closer to reality, as he has done with the new Concept EQG and Concept Maybach EQS.
The Mercedes-Benz Concept EQG it is the electrification of the legendary Mercedes G-Class range. This is an off-road vehicle that maintains the checkered design of this recognized class for decades. However, it adds the characteristic electrical features of Mercedes such as blued LED strips. The company says that the design of this concept is close to the final version, so we should not expect many changes.
On the other hand we have the Mercedes-Maybach EQS, a luxury SUV from the Maybach sub-brand. The design is still in the early stages, although it allows us to see a more aerodynamic style by having smoother and rounded lines. It stands out for its luxurious interior and especially spacious in the rear seats. It even has a folding table and a refrigerator in the back. Anyway, we will know more about this vehicle in 2022.
