England internationals Bukayo Saka, Mason Greenwood and Jude Bellingham have been included in the 20-man list for the 2021 Golden Boy award.

The prestigious award is given to the best performing U21 footballer in Europe and is voted on by sports journalists from across the continent.

Arsenal’s Saka have enjoyed a successful year for both the club and the country, playing a pivotal role in England’s journey to the Euro 2020 final earlier this summer.

Bukayo Saka has become an integral part of both Arsenal and the England team this year.

The 20-year-old also won the Gunners’ Player of The Season award last season.

Despite his poor form, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood has been one of his bright sparks this season. The 20-year-old is currently United’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with four goals in nine games.

GOLDEN CHILD NOMINATED

Karim Adeyemi (RB Salzburg), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund) Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Charles De Ketelaere (FC Brugge), Gavi (Barcelona), Bryan Gil (Tottenham) Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax), Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) , Daniel Maldini (AC Milan), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich), Nuno Mendes (PSG), Pedri (Barcelona), Roberto Piccoli (Atalanta), Yeremi Pino (Villarreal), Giovanni Reyna (Borussia Dortmund), Rodrygo (Real Madrid) , Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), William Saliba (Marseille), Jurrien Timber (Ajax), Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)

Borussia Dortmund’s Bellingham was also inducted into the England team for Euro 2020 at just 17 years old and has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the world.

It seems that the pair to beat will be Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid and Pedri of Barcelona.

After his strong performances with Rennes last season, Camavinga secured a £ 27 million move to Spain and has been a regular on Carlo Ancelotti’s team this season. He is joined by his teammate Rodrygo on the short list.

Pedri has been at the heart of both Barcelona and the Spanish National Team this year, having played more than 70 games this year.

The youngster recently signed a new five-year contract with the Spanish giants, with a buyout clause of € 1 billion (£ 846 million) included.

Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala is also on the list. The former Chelsea youth has played past his age at times over the past year. Earlier this year, he chose to represent Germany rather than England, for whom he was also eligible to play.

RB Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi is also a contender. The 19-year-old, who has recently been linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich, is off to a sensational start to this season, scoring 14 outstanding goals in just 18 appearances in all competitions.

Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is also on the list. His excellent performances for the Dutch team earned him a call for Euro 2020 for the Dutch team, where he is always present.

Past Golden Boy winners include Wayne Rooney, Raheem Sterling, Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi.

Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland picked up the award last year, beating Ansu Fati (second) and Alphonso Davies (third) in the process.

The winner will be announced before the end of the year.
