Man Utd 0-5 Liverpool: Player ratings, man of the match, heroes and villains as pressure mounts on Solskjaer

The Red Devils suffered a humiliating defeat against their fiercest rivals on Sunday, in a night that will long be remembered by both fans.

Manchester United suffered one of the most embarrassing defeats in their history on Sunday, with Liverpool breaking away from Old Trafford with a 5-0 win.

Jürgen Klopp’s men were four ahead at half-time thanks to the support of Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, and Mohamed Salah, with United helping their old foes a hand with some chaotic defenses.

Salah made five not long after half-time and scored a hat-trick before Paul Pogba was shown a red card for a dangerously high tackle.

The visitors then dominated possession for the final stages without really looking for a sixth in what was an extremely embarrassing evening for Solskjaer and Co.

The heroes

Naby Keita: The No.8

was somewhat of a surprise roster at Old Trafford, as he was knocked out at halftime in the midweek win over Atletico Madrid. But Keita justified his selection after pushing the ball past David De Gea in the fifth minute, before setting up Salah’s goal later in the first period.
Ibrahima Konate: Prior to Sunday, the defender had only played 90 minutes in the Premier League, but he delivered a solid performance for the Merseysiders and dealt effectively with the threat from Cristiano Ronaldo.
