Manchester United Supports Trust has released a statement after the 4-0 loss at Brentford

Despite Ten Hag’s team having failed to make their way this season after consecutive losses in the Premier League, the Trust blamed the club’s demise on the Glazer family chairman.

MUST hold the owners of the Club primarily responsible for this new low in our decade of decline. Sir Alex has sealed the cracks, but since 2013 the consequences of our owners have been clearly visible.’

The group was initially formed in 1998 to protest the planned takeover of the club by Ruport Mudoch, and has since grown to become the largest group of its kind in the UK.

In the years following United’s purchase of United by the Glazer family in 2005, MUST has turned its attention to seeking a more democratic model of fan involvement in the running of the club, advocating for United to adopt the 50+1 model. which can be seen in the Bundesliga, where clubs are required to retain at least 50% plus one share of their voting rights.

MUST further demanded in their statement that “urgent and radical” changes would take place at the club:

“On behalf of Manchester United fans everywhere, we demand urgent and radical change. And we as fans – all of us – need to stick together. Fan unity, with one voice focused on the owners and the club, is needed now more than ever.”

On behalf of Manchester United fans everywhere, we demand urgent and radical change. And we as fans – all of us – need to stick together. Fan unity, with one voice focused on the owners and the club, is needed now more than ever.
