Man Reveals He Had A Job Interview With The Same Employer Who Just Fired Him So He Went With Fake Mustache

A man just revealed that he got an interview with the same ’employer who just fired him’ – so he showed up wearing a fake mustache and fooled almost everyone!

The man, who comes from the US and is known as @Firr on Twitter, goes viral after explaining that a recruiter accidentally lured him into a job interview with the company he was recently fired from. So what did he do? He put on a disguise and went to the interview, and while it totally worked in the beginning, let’s just say it didn’t turn out so well for him.

‘I am currently unemployed. A recruiter arranged a job interview… With the employer who just fired me. I wish I made that up,” he wrote on Twitter on Nov. 4.

“So I heard you’re looking for a new programmer, may I ask what happened to your previous employee?” he joked.

He then shared a screenshot of the email confirmation he received before the interview.

‘Holy s**t! See you tomorrow f**kers!’ he captioned it.

A day later, the programmer shared a photo of a pack of fake mustaches he’d bought, captioned, “Ready for my interview today!”

“They’ll never guess!” he wrote, next to a photo showing him wearing one.

Of course, the internet was fully invested and they were on the edge of their seats waiting to find out what happened during the interview. And luckily he gave us all a play-by-play through the whole thing.

As it turned out, the interview started with someone he’d never met before – a hiring manager – so he was clear so far!

‘The gentleman at the front desk was unfazed by my glorious facial outfit. Waiting to be called back by the interview manager,” he tweeted.

“The hiring manager is a man I’ve never met before. He asks the usual questions,” he continued.

‘My old job isn’t listed by name on the resume I got, but it’s a copy-paste of the vacancy.’

After giving him a bunch of snacks, the hiring manager said he was “going to get one of the technicians,” and the man knew it would probably be someone he knew. Fortunately, it was someone he’d only met a few times.

“I saw him in the cafeteria once or twice, but I don’t think I ever said hello outside,” he explained. “Let’s see if my disguise holds.”

That is - until it came time to meet the technical team, which was made up of the people he worked with every day. He knew they could find him

When someone asked what his plan was if he got caught, the man said he would “dramatically rip off his mustache” and say, “Fools, it was me all along!”

He called the company “disorganized” because it didn’t realize they were interviewing a person they fired less than two weeks earlier.

After the engineer came in, he said, “I think I’ve seen you. Have you ever worked here as a freelancer before?’ The man replied, ‘I think so. I’ve freelanced in many places.’

He added in another tweet: “Chat went well! He had to run though, so I’m back in the waiting area to go to the other building and meet the engineering team.”

And then it got really interesting. The technical team was made up of the people he worked with every day, so he knew they would be able to find him. But before meeting his old team, one of his followers asked what he would say or do if he got caught.

“My current plan is to deny it, then dramatically pull off my mustache and say, ‘You fools, it always was me!’ he replied.

And when someone else asked him what he would do if they actually offered him the job, he explained, “If your company is so disorganized, you can interview a person a week and a half after you fired them, there are probably bigger systemic problems that be a red flag.’

Finally he met someone from the technical team, and it happened to be his old boss.

‘Holy s**t. He sat down. Super serious. “So you’re here to really re-interview for this job?” the man tweeted.

He decided to play dumb and replied, “I don’t understand the ‘re’ part, but I’d like to know more about this role.”

He was escorted out of the building, but made sure to finish strong. Before leaving, he tore off his mustache as promised and asked his former boss, “How did you know it was me?”

Despite finding out, the man called the whole thing a “victory.” He wrote, “I got about eight dollars worth of snacks. Who really won here?’

Then the mold was gone.

“He sat down with the hiring manager again. The hiring manager was furious. I didn’t say I just got fired from this place. I just said I couldn’t remember! Things change so much in two weeks, you know,” he tweeted.

“To still be in this office after more than an hour is an absolute victory as far as I’m concerned.”

He was then escorted out of the building. But when he left, he certainly asked, “So I’m not getting the job?”

“When I got to my car, I had one last moment with the old boss,” he added.

He ripped off his mustache “in one dramatic move” and asked him, “How did you know it was me?” He replied, “Get out of here.”

“They spent an hour of their time interviewing a reliable, well-qualified candidate, but eventually realized it wasn’t going to work. I’ve got about eight dollars worth of snacks. Who really won here?’ the man concluded.
