Man City’s fifth Premier League title in nine years confirms their status among England’s historic sides
Manchester City’s are once again the Kings of England. City won the seventh league title in club history and captured the Premier League on Tuesday after Manchester United lost 2-1 at home to Leicester City. The Red Devils had to win to prevent City from celebrating on this day.
Man City have won the league five times since 2011/12, for the first time since 2018/19, and equal to Chelsea for the most league titles in the Premier League era. Their conquest comes as no surprise as it seemed inevitable for months that they would win it, long with a huge points advantage over the teams below them. City have won 25 of their 35 league games so far this season with a revamped defense up front, scoring just 26 goals to run away, knocking Liverpool off the pedestal as the champions of England.
